Chris Chow’s Dàdì Collection
Dàdì Collection was the first hand-crafted art card series created and developed by Vancouver artist Chris Chow and was launched in 1999.
Chris was born in Hong Kong and resides in Canada with her husband since the early 90’s. She was a professionally trained commercial artist before leaving Hong Kong. While she decided to be a stay-at-home mom devoting her time raising her children, she created and painted arts whenever she had spare time. Many of her early brush paintings were created and executed in the attic of her home. She named her attic painting studio "Dàdì", which means Mother Earth in Chinese.
Chris enjoys her personal space as a painter; through paints and brushes she allows herself to unwind and stay focused. She adopts a laid back approach as an artist and works at her own pace. The unique ink-wash painting style Chris develops has always been close to her heart.
Since the 90’s, Chris has developed thirteen series of hand-crafted art cards. Many of these can be found in gift shops and art galleries throughout Canada since 2000. The following collections have enjoyed great popularity over the years:
